Lake 98 Buckeye Lake's Home For Maximum Variety
Come celebrate your Independence Day the best way we know how at Buckeye Lake… on your boat! Start from Liebs Island and make your way down the lake to the Waterfront for final judging. As Chair of the Committee, Marnita Swickard would like to share the details of this year’s Boat Parade with you! This year’s Grand Marshall is the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. More info is coming soon! Participants will need to register this year to receive an event number to identify their boat! Contact Marnita Swickard at 614-419-0478 or marnita@buckeyelake.com to get registered. The theme for the parade this year is Patriotic Birthday Celebration! Get creative with red, white, and blue decorations, patriotic bunting, birthday streamers, and even birthday hats for everyone on board!
There will be 3 prizes this year for people who participate.
- Most Patriotic ($200 Award), sponsored by the Buckeye Lake Chamber of Commerce
- Most Creative ($200 Award), sponsored by the Buckeye Lake Area Civic Association
- People’s Choice ($200 Award), sponsored by Marnita Swickard and Michelle Blizzard: eMerge Real Estate
Most Patriotic and Most Creative will be chosen from a panel of judges. The People’s Choice Award will be just that… up to all of you beautiful people! Each boat will have a number associated with it, and you will text in to vote! Just like they do on American Idol! The number to text will be (740) 224-4948. Please text the boat number that you would like to win the People’s Choice Award to the above number to vote! There will be one vote per phone number.
